Yeti Cycles was founded in 1985 by John Parker in California with the F.R.O. — For Racing Only — frame, built from aircraft-grade chromoly and designed explicitly for competition. The turquoise color became inseparable from the brand as riders including John Tomac, Juli Furtado, and Missy Giove dominated early mountain bike racing on Yeti. Schwinn purchased the company in 1995; the ASR in 2000 was the first bike Yeti made after regaining independence. In 2001, two Yeti employees — Steve Hoogendoorn and Chris Conroy — bought the company and relocated headquarters to Golden, Colorado, where the brand operates today. The ASR was relaunched in March 2024 after a six-year hiatus, returning Yeti to the XC race category with a new flex-stay suspension design. Learn more at Yeti Cycles’ official website.
RA Cycles stocks the current Yeti lineup across XC, trail, and enduro. The ASR is Yeti’s dedicated cross-country race platform, available in builds from $10,600 to $14,300 and as a T-Series frameset at $4,000. The SB120, SB135, SB160, and SB165 all use Switch Infinity suspension — tuned for different travel targets and terrain — and are available in both T-Series (higher-spec carbon) and C-Series builds. The SB165 frameset is also available at $4,800 for custom builds. Most models ship in multiple colorways and size runs from small through extra-large.
