About Mountain Bike Suspension

Choosing suspension involves matching fork travel and geometry to your riding style — shorter travel (100–120mm) for cross-country and trail work, longer travel (140–170mm) for enduro and more aggressive terrain. Rear shock selection depends on your frame’s linkage design and the stroke length it requires. Getting both ends right, with compatible damper tuning, makes a bigger difference to how a mountain bike rides than almost any other component decision.
