XLAB

XLAB started with a problem every Ironman triathlete faces: how to carry enough fluid and nutrition on the bike without giving up speed. Since 1993, the San Diego-based company has been building aerodynamic hydration and storage solutions specifically for triathlon — starting with the original Saddle Wing rear carrier and expanding to a full system of wing mounts, bottle cages, rear hydration carriers, and on-bike storage that has become standard kit at the professional level. The Gorilla carbon cage, introduced in 2006, redefined what a bottle cage could grip and still keep clean aerodynamic lines. The 87-product XLAB collection at RA Cycles covers the full range: Aero Carbon Wing Systems for rear hydration, Delta rear hydration units, Gorilla and Chimp carbon cages, calibrated racing bottles, and storage from saddle bags through stem pouches and gear boxes. About XLAB

XLAB was founded in 1993 in San Diego by Craig Turner, an aerospace designer who applied his engineering background to the specific problem of triathlon hydration. The company’s first rear carrier used aerospace aluminum alloy, and the design philosophy — lightweight, aerodynamic, purpose-built for race day — has stayed consistent for over three decades. In 2006 XLAB introduced the Gorilla carbon cage, which became one of the most widely used cages in the sport. In 2009 they launched the Torpedo Mount, the first horizontal between-the-aerobars hydration system that gave triathletes front-mounted water access without the drag of a traditional cage setup.
