The XLAB Gorilla XT Carbon Bottle Cage solves the cage's fundamental tension: holding your bottle firmly enough to survive rough roads and cobbles, while still releasing cleanly when you reach for a drink. Six tall gripping fingers deliver around 14 pounds of retention force — enough to keep even large-format bottles locked in through the roughest riding. A stiff hook at the top of the cage secures the bottle's groove on entry, so it stays put until you pull it out deliberately.
The carbon construction keeps weight down to 49g while allowing for thicker, stiffer material than a standard alloy cage. Note that bottles with a non-uniform upper groove — including the CamelBak Podium and Polar Insulated — may not seat correctly with this design. XLAB's own Aqua-Shot bottle is confirmed compatible if you need a reliable pairing.
