About De Rosa

De Rosa was founded by Ugo De Rosa in Cusano Milanino, near Milan, in 1953 — starting as a small workshop producing handmade racing frames. The brand established its reputation in the professional peloton throughout the 1960s and 1970s, supplying frames to riders including Eddy Merckx, Gianni Motta, and Francesco Moser. De Rosa was also an early adopter of TIG welding for bicycle frames, which allowed for more precise, personalized geometries than traditional construction. In recent decades the brand has collaborated with design house Pininfarina, resulting in models that blend racing performance with Italian industrial design. The RA Cycles De Rosa collection covers several distinct categories. The Merak Disc frameset — available in standard and Luxury Color variants — represents De Rosa's current carbon road offering. The lugged steel Collezione Acciaio preserves the brand's traditional construction methods, with chrome detailing on the premium version. The Solo Ti rim-brake frameset, available in custom paint, is De Rosa's titanium option and the highest-priced frame in the collection. A number of carbon models from recent seasons — including the King 3, 888 Super King, Idol, and Dual — are also available.
