Yeti ASR C3 Bike w/RockShox SID Ultimate Fork Info
The Yeti ASR C3 Bike with RockShox SID Ultimate Fork represents a different build philosophy within Yeti's reborn XC platform. Where the TURQ-Series ASR builds prioritize the lightest possible frame weight, the C3 invests its budget in a different place: a fully wireless SRAM GX AXS Eagle Transmission drivetrain. It's a deliberate trade — C-Series carbon in place of TURQ, wireless electronic shifting instead of mechanical — and for a lot of riders, it's exactly the right call. The feel of a wireless drivetrain changes how you use the bike on every ride, and the C3 delivers that at a price point that makes the ASR platform more accessible.
The C-Series carbon frame carries the same geometry, suspension architecture, and platform DNA as the TURQ models. The 115mm flex stay rear suspension, Hangerless Interface, integrated fender, two-bottle clearance inside the main triangle, and a 66.5° head tube angle consistent across all sizes — these are unchanged. C-Series uses a different fiber grade than TURQ, which adds a small amount of weight to the frame, but the structural integrity and ride character are preserved. Yeti's size-specific stiffness tuning applies here as well: each size is engineered individually so a rider on XS and a rider on XL experience the same chassis behavior, not the same layup schedule.
The RockShox SID Ultimate fork with TwistLoc handles front suspension duties — the same fork specification as the T4 build — paired with a RockShox SIDLuxe Select+ 3P rear shock. The SRAM GX AXS Eagle Transmission takes a different approach to efficiency than TwistLoc lockout: wireless shifting with no cables, direct derailleur mount to the rear axle via Hangerless Interface, and an AXS Pod controller on the bar in place of a lockout remote. The FlatTop chain and 10-52 cassette deliver the same wide gear range as mechanical Eagle builds. The tradeoff — no simultaneous fork-and-shock lockout — is real, but for riders who prioritize clean ergonomics and wireless simplicity over sprint-mode lockout, the GX AXS Transmission is the more modern system.
Design Benefits
- SRAM GX AXS Eagle Transmission — Wireless 12-speed shifting with a direct-mount derailleur that clamps to the rear axle via the ASR's Hangerless Interface. No derailleur hanger, no shift cable, no cable tension adjustments. The AXS Pod controller operates the derailleur via Bluetooth, and the 10-52 cassette covers the full range of XC terrain. FlatTop chain keeps the drivetrain clean and the shifting precise.
- C-Series carbon with ASR platform architecture — The C-Series frame uses Yeti's proven flex stay design, near-linear suspension leverage rate (10% progressivity), and 115mm of rear travel. The hollow pivot construction, integrated rear fender, and two-bottle frame clearance carry over from the TURQ builds. Geometry is identical: 66.5° head tube angle, steep seat tube (70.4–72.1° by size), and size-specific stiffness tuning throughout.
- RockShox SID Ultimate fork — A genuinely premium XC fork with TwistLoc remote lockout capability. The SID Ultimate provides precise, responsive damping for the kind of terrain where the ASR excels — XC courses, technical singletrack, and anything that rewards suspension that tracks the ground and gets out of the way when you're pushing.
- Hangerless Interface — The ASR's rear axle accepts SRAM Eagle Transmission derailleurs directly — no hanger, maximum rigidity. The GX AXS derailleur mounts axle-to-axle for the most precise and durable shifting interface in modern mountain biking. The included UDH adapter also maintains backwards compatibility with conventional groupsets.
- Fox Transfer SL Performance Elite dropper — Yeti engineered the ASR's seat tube specifically to accommodate full-stroke droppers without compromise. The Fox Transfer SL Performance Elite is a short-travel, XC-optimized post in 125mm (XS/S) and 150mm (M–XL) — remote actuated, reliable, and purpose-built for the kind of technical descending modern XC racing demands.
- 760mm Burgtec handlebar — The Ride Wide Alloy Enduro bar runs 20mm wider than the RaceFace Next SL on the T4, giving the C3 a slightly more trail-oriented feel. Paired with the Burgtec Enduro MK3 stem, it's a cockpit setup that favors stability and control on rowdy terrain.
- Modern XC geometry — Head tube angle of 66.5° across all sizes, steep seat tube angle (70.4–72.1° depending on size) for efficient climbing position, and a bottom bracket height tuned for pedaling clearance in rock gardens while staying low enough for predictable cornering. Same numbers as the TURQ builds — same handling, different carbon.
Final Take
The ASR C3 is for the rider who wants wireless drivetrain simplicity and the full Yeti ASR platform experience at a more accessible price point. The C-Series carbon frame is heavier than TURQ, and the SIDLuxe Select+ rear shock is a step below the Ultimate — those are honest tradeoffs. What you get in return is a wireless SRAM GX AXS Eagle Transmission, a RockShox SID Ultimate fork, and the same geometry and suspension design that makes the ASR one of the most capable XC mountain bikes available. At $7,200, the C3 earns its place in the lineup.
