The SRAM Level Ultimate Disc Brake is built around one principle: remove every gram that doesn't earn its place, and make what remains perform better than the parts it replaced. The carbon lever blade pivots on bearings rather than bushings — a small change that produces a noticeably cleaner pull — and titanium hardware keeps weight low throughout. A monobloc caliper design, machined from a single piece of alloy, is both stiffer and lighter than a two-piece equivalent.
Inside the caliper, dual 21mm pistons push aluminum-backed pads against a stainless steel heat shield — a detail that matters on long descents, where brake fluid temperature directly affects modulation and pad contact. The DirectLink master cylinder engages the caliper the moment the lever moves, with no dead travel to mask your inputs. A PiggyBack reservoir and expandable bladder work together to reduce air in the hydraulic circuit, while the Bleeding Edge port on the caliper makes servicing cleaner and less prone to contamination. Hoses arrive pre-bled. MatchMaker MMX clamp compatibility means this lever can share bar space with SRAM trigger shifters and RockShox controls without crowding your cockpit — and the design is ambidextrous, so one lever covers either end of the bike.
