The Shimano PD-M324 Pedals are built for riders who want the efficiency of clipless pedaling without committing to it on every ride. One side accepts Shimano's SPD two-bolt cleats; flip the pedal over and you have a chrome-plated steel cage platform that works with regular shoes, casual footwear, or anything in between. The aluminum pedal body keeps weight reasonable, while a chromoly spindle running through sealed cup and cone bearings gives you a durable, smooth-spinning platform that holds up over time.
The SPD retention system is adjustable with a small hex key at the back of the mechanism — dial it toward easy release for confidence when you're still getting used to clipless, or firm it up once you want more security underfoot. The M324 ships with SM-SH51 Single-Release cleats, which include 4° of float to allow natural ankle movement through the pedal stroke. They're also compatible with SM-SH56 Multi-Release cleats if you prefer an even more forgiving exit.
