Rotor Q-Spidering Direct Mount Chainrings Info
Rotor’s Aldhu Direct Mount Round Chainrings, aka the NoQ Spidering, is an impressive feat of machining. More importantly, it is light, stiff, simple, and durable, and adds up to a super-light, super-stiff drivetrain component.
The Spidering begins life as a block of 7075 aluminum. It is then machined down to create a one-piece four-arm spider and two chainrings. The teeth are machined to ease shifting. There are ramps and pins on the inside of the big ring to help lift and drop the chain quickly and securely.
The Spidering attaches to the Rotor Aldhu bottom bracket via a circle of splines at the center. It is then secured into place by the Aldhu right crank arm.
The Rotor has found this design saves 30g over a standard chainring plus spider. And that’s when comparing it to their already ultra-light offerings. The 52/36 NoQ Spidering weighs 168g. When you take 170mm Aldhu crankarms and add the 50/34 NoQ Spidering, the set weighs 599g.
The chainring ratios available for the Rotor Aldhu Round Spidering Direct Mount are 53/39, 52/36, and 50/34.
