The Rotor Q-Ring Outer Chainring for 110x4bcd is Rotor's oval chainring solution for riders looking to extract more from each pedal stroke. The premise is straightforward: your legs don't produce equal force throughout a full 360-degree rotation, so a round ring wastes that asymmetry. These Q-Rings are ovalized at 12.5% — a moderate figure that Rotor has settled on as enough to meaningfully engage the stronger phases of your stroke and carry you through the weaker ones, without the adaptation penalty of more aggressive oval shapes.
The 110x4 BCD pattern makes these compatible with Rotor's own Aldhu spider as well as Shimano and Shimano-compatible 110x4 cranks — so your existing drivetrain may already be a match. When paired with an Aldhu spider, you can fine-tune the Optimal Chainring Position (OCP) across five settings to dial in the oval's orientation relative to your individual pedalling mechanics. With a Shimano-compatible spider, you're fixed at OCP #3, which works well for most riders. Chainring bolts are sold separately.
