Race Face’s Next line includes a sidebar where they’ve stashed the beefed up superlight parts. It’s were their Next R 35 Handlebar belongs. The Next is their carbon superlight stuff; R is for Rally. It’s more akin to Rugged, as the Next R stuff shares most of the design cues of Next, just a bit stiffer, tougher, heavier.
So it is with these Next R bars. You have the same 35mm clamp diameter as the Next bars—make sure you get a 35mm handlebar clamp stem along with these bars. They also use UD carbon-fiber. The bars have also been tuned for small-bump compliance. They are still super stiff and light. The difference is they’re stiffer and not quite as light so they can be deployed for more rugged applications. Bigger riders, bigger hits, heavier impacts—think aggressive trail, think all mountain, think enduro. That’s where these bars are at.
They’ve got a wide 800 mm width. The back sweep is eight degrees, the up sweep is five degrees. There are three rises: 10, 20, and 35mm.
