Simple does it. PRO’s Micro CO2 Inflator is as small and lightweight as you can expect from a pump.
It consists of three parts. There’s the head, the cartridge, and a sleeve to insulate your hand from the cartridge. The sleeve isn’t essential, but it’s a very good idea as cartridges get very cold when used. The included cartridge is a 16g threaded cartridge. 16g is seen as a size that can fill pretty much any adult-sized bicycle tire to a safe, rideable pressure. It’s a good idea to carry more than one cartridge, as most don’t want to rely on a single shot. All threaded CO2 cartridges have the same thread, so you needn’t be brand-centric for spares.
The head screws on to Schrader valves and presses onto Presta valves.
The way these work is you only thread in the cartridge when you are about to pump. The threading breaks the seal on the cartridge. Once it’s broken, the spring in the pump head releases air.
