Niterider Pro 2800 Enduro Remote Front Light Info
If you like your rides off road and preferably at night, but don’t want to have to a heavy light and battery pack to haul around with you, the NiteRider Pro 2800 Enduro Remote Front Light should be the perfect match for you.
Let’s face it: how often do you ever drive with your car headlights on high-beam? Maybe driving through unlit country roads or down snowy mountain passes. But typically, regular or even low beams are sufficient. It’s the same only more so for bikes. If you have too bright of a light on your bike when you are riding in regular traffic, you risk disorienting or even blinding the on-coming traffic, whether it is the foot, two or four wheels variety. With the Pro 2800 Enduro Remote Front Light you get a still supremely bright light, but not the type of brightness that could be mistaken for the second coming on a bike path. The Pro 2800 offers many of the same conveniences that the larger, heavier Pro 3600 has, but at a more manageable price and with a slimmed-down footprint. Perhaps the most significant weight and space saving feature comes in the battery that is two-thirds the size of the battery accompanying the 3600, and a large portion of the 200+ grams you are saving in weight is on account of the battery.
But down-sizing the battery will not cost you anything in terms of battery life. On the contrary, you’ll get 1:30 hours on the high beam, while you can count on 56 hours of power when using the flashing setting. And if you are keeping it on the low, non-blinking setting, then you will still get 6 hours out of it. To give you an idea of when you need to start thinking about recharging your battery, there are four green LEDs on the very top of the light just in front of the red power button. Each LED represents 25% power, and they will drop off as the battery drains during use. Once you are down to your last green light, you’ll probably want to power-up before your next ride.
This sort of brightness to beam ratios slots the Pro 2800 right into the category of perfect commuting lamp that can be used for epic Enduro woods rides at the weekend. With the remote switch you can also control the various brightness settings according to your needs over the course of a ride. For instance, if you are starting out in the evening rolling through your neighborhood on the way to the trails, you won’t need or want to use the full power light, but once the sun has definitely set and you are hammering the back trails, you will be able to switch easily to the more powerful mode.
The NiteRider Pro 2800 Enduro Remote Front Light weighs 625 grams and can fit onto handlebars up to 31.8mm in diameter. Powered by a six cell Lithium Ion battery, the Pro 2800 Enduro will need six hours to recharge, and can be done either with a USB or an AC adapter connection.
