CeramicSpeed Ceramic Race Coated Bottom Bracket - BBright to GXP (SRAM) Info
The CeramicSpeed Ceramic Race Coated Bottom Bracket BBright to GXP exists to solve a specific problem: running SRAM or Quarq GXP cranks — with their 24mm/22.5mm spindle — in a BBright Press Fit frame. It does that job with Grade 3 Silicon Nitride ceramic balls pressed into hardened steel races with coated bearing raceways, delivering measurably lower friction than standard steel bearings and a service life designed to outlast them by a significant margin.
The BBright standard uses an asymmetric 79mm-wide shell with a 46mm inner diameter — wider and stiffer than BB30/PF30 — and this bottom bracket is built specifically for the Press Fit version of that interface. CeramicSpeed's ceramic balls are assembled in dust-free clean rooms, and the bearing units are pressed into precision aluminum cups machined by Rotor in Spain before final assembly at CeramicSpeed in Denmark. The coated races reduce sliding friction at the contact surface, which compounds the low-friction properties of the ceramic balls themselves.
