The CeramicSpeed Ceramic Coated Wheel Kits - Mavic-16 is a five-bearing replacement kit designed for specific Mavic R-Sys wheels — two bearings for the front hub, two for the rear hub, and one for the cassette body. The ceramic coating applied to the steel races is three microns thick and designed to produce a surface 80% harder than standard hardened steel, resulting in lower friction and extended bearing service life compared to uncoated alternatives.

CeramicSpeed uses Grade 3 Silicon Nitride balls, which the company states are 400% smoother and 128% harder than standard steel balls. The balls are installed into hardened steel races in dust-free clean rooms, and each kit ships with CeramicSpeed's proprietary low-friction grease pre-applied, plus a syringe for reapplication. Compatible wheel models include the 2015 R-Sys SLR and the 2013 R-Sys SLR in both clincher and tubular configurations.
