The Free AR 4.0 Jersey is still super fast, saving about 12 watts at 40 kph over a regular jersey, according to Castelli's wind tunnel tests. The excellent-wicking Velocity Dry fabric graces the front of the jersey, just as it does on the Aero Race 5.0. But here the Velocity Dry fabric extends to the shoulders.
A silicone gripper elastic band at the waist keeps the jersey in place, even when pockets are overstuffed, and Giro 3 arm elastic grippers present a smooth face to the wind, and prevent bunching up or pinching. And the full-zip front means that when the road tips up and cooling off becomes more important than aerodynamics, riders can easily unzip for full venting.
