Quite likely the most precision-crafted bicycle chain ever made, the Campagnolo Record eleven-speed chain (also used for Super Record drivetrains) is a thing of beauty. The bicycle chain is easily the most under-appreciated component of the system, yet it is the most critical piece of the puzzle. Though the bicycle has evolved tremendously over the decades, the chain has remained relatively unchanged- quite simply because it works so efficiently.
Campy’s engineers have evaluated how the chain moves across each cog, derailleur pulley, and chain ring, carefully evaluating how to help the chain move effortlessly, silently, and with great durability. Most of us only think of our chains when they need to be lubed or cleaned, but the folks at Campy think about them all the time. All that effort has produced a chain that is light, shifts flawlessly, and maintains Campy’s legendary chain durability. The entire chain is coated in a special anti-friction NI-PTFE treatment that improves shifting, keeps things quiet, and prolongs the life of the chain. With the Ultra-Link connecting system, you’ll get maximum wear and security from the chain as well. (Campy recommends use of their UT-CN300 chain tool for installation of the chain, to secure the special connecting pin.)
