Mille is back. Assos has updated and improved their Mille offerings with the SS.milleJersey_evo7. Better fit, better fabric, new cut.

The paneling design, or AEPD in Assos speak they call “freedom fit.”  It’s for a few reasons. One is the cut is slightly more generous. Another is that the new type.116 fabric is comfortable, wicking, light, and stretchy. Another is the raglan sleeves allow for bigger arms to move through, and no gripper or elastic to snug the sleeve to the bicep.

The front is full-zip for both ease and ventilation. While the fit has been relaxed, the build is still fairly complicated, with two textiles, nine patterns, and thirteen components. It looks straightforward from the front, but when you look at the back, you can see the extra paneling, and how the pieces fit together. Investigate around the shoulder blades and under the arms. The pieces might not look like they make a difference standing up, but once on the bike, you’ll feel everything move into place.

Assos keeps a number of their now almost-trademark touches. There’s the zipper dock at the bottom hem to minimize abrasions on shorts. There’s a media pocket zipped into the exterior of the right pocket, and it’s ported so you can route cables from your phone or player inside the jersey up to the collar. There’s only a gripper on the rear bottom hem, both for comfort and to eliminate bouncing pockets.
