The Cervélo S5 has long made its claim of being the fastest bike on the road and now it is back with even more improvements. Cervélo led the aero charge years ago and they have only widened the gap on the competition. In the 2022 and 2023 Tour de France, the S5 was seen propelling Jonas Vingegaard to yellow. It also helped Wout van Aert record the highest points total in modern history and was used by Sepp Kuss in his 2024 Vuelta a Espana victory. Thanks to new UCI regulations, the S5 is more aero than ever, managing 65 more grams of aero drag improvement. A deeper head tube and bottom bracket area along with more aggressive tube shaping make this the most aerodynamic S5 yet.
The famous V-Stem of the Cervélo S5 has also been updated to its most convenient and fastest model yet. This shape was chosen for aerodynamic benefit and easy control of your bike at high speeds. The design of the stem allows for less turbulent air flow over the top tube and around the rider’s body, eliminating a lot of wind resistance, allowing for internal cable routing, and a fit for anyone. It is now faster and easier to set up than ever. All the needed spacers are included with the bike and only one bolt length is necessary. This simultaneously makes the system less complex while also reducing its weight by 53 grams. The V-Stem sets the S5 apart from other aero bikes on the market, helping not only with speed, but with stability and integration as well.
The Cervélo S5 gives you a great balance of stiffness to attack straight away sprints or quick corners. A lowered and stiff bottom bracket is great for stability and pedaling efficiency, allowing your energy input to be transferred to the back wheel rather than deforming the frame. The torsional stiffness of the S5 assures minimal twisting of the frame on your turns so you can keep your momentum even when the course does not stay straight. This frame features excellent vertical compliance to help keep you from losing speed on bumpy roads. 34mm tires can be equipped to take on difficult riding. The enhanced frame of the new Cervélo S5 makes it a true sprinter’s bike.

Most aerodynamic drag comes from the rider’s body, so a comfortable aero position is just as important as the aerodynamics of the bike.
