SRAM Red 22 Yaw Front Derailleur Info
The SRAM Red 22 Yaw Front Derailleur solves a problem that mechanical front derailleurs have always had: the need to trim your position across the cassette to prevent cage rub. The Yaw mechanism pivots the cage on a vertical axis, keeping it aligned with the chain regardless of which chainring you're on or which cog the rear derailleur is running. No trimming, no rub — across all eleven cogs, in both rings.
The outer cage plate is aluminium, stiffened by a tool steel inner plate — a combination designed to keep the cage rigid under hard shifts without adding unnecessary weight. Setup is simplified by alignment hash marks stamped into the cage plates: line them up with the big ring and the derailleur is positioned correctly. An aluminium chain guide is included, mounting to the derailleur bolt to prevent chain drops under hard pedalling on rough roads. The derailleur is braze-on mount only — a clamp adapter is not included. At 69g (excluding the chain guide, which adds 10.2g), it sits at the top of the SRAM road derailleur hierarchy. Compatible with all SRAM 11-speed Double-Tap systems, including Red and Force, as well as bar-end shifters.
