SRAM eTap Battery

The SRAM eTap Battery is the spare you bring so you never have to think about it. At 24g and 44mm × 24mm × 19mm, it slips into a saddle bag or a bike box without taking up meaningful space — and on a long ride or a multi-day trip, that insurance is worth carrying.

A single charge is designed to cover roughly 1,000km before you need to plug back in. You can monitor remaining charge by pressing the function button on the derailleur, or through any ANT+-enabled head unit paired to the rear derailleur's signal. The battery ships at 60% charge — a full charge before first use is recommended. Each unit includes a travel cover to protect the contacts when it's not in the derailleur.

One thing worth knowing: SRAM eTap derailleurs use internal accelerometers that can register movement during transport. If you're boxing the bike for a flight or a car trip, removing the batteries beforehand is the sensible move to preserve charge.
