Cervelo Soloist Ultegra Di2 Bike Info
The Cervelo Soloist Ultegra Di2 Bike is Cervelo's aero road racer, built for riders who treat competitive cycling as a habit rather than an occasional outing — the early morning training rides, the Tuesday night fast group ride, the local crit series. This build pairs a redesigned aero frame with Shimano's Ultegra Di2 electronic groupset and a built-in power meter, giving serious club racers a bike that's ready to race the day it leaves the shop.
Cervelo redesigned the Soloist's frame around a deeper head tube and fork legs, along with a bottom bracket junction shaped to shield the rear wheel from turbulent air. Cervelo reports the changes save up to 8.6 watts of drag compared to the previous Soloist generation. The frame and fork pair with a Cervelo HB18 one-piece carbon handlebar and stem, which cuts weight versus a traditional two-piece cockpit while keeping the front end's aero profile clean. Across the six-size range (48cm to 61cm), Cervelo held trail constant at 57.3mm, so handling feel stays consistent whether a rider is on the smallest or largest frame — only head tube angle shifts, from 71 to 73 degrees, to keep fit proportional to frame size.
The build runs on Shimano's Ultegra Di2 R8150 electronic derailleurs and R8170 hydraulic disc brake shifters, giving precise, consistent shifting and strong stopping power regardless of conditions. The Ultegra R8100 crankset carries a 52/36 compact chainring setup matched to an 11-34 cassette — a wider range than a typical aero road build, which gives racers gearing to handle punchy climbs on top of flat-out group ride speed. Built into the crankset is a 4iiii Precision Pro GEN3+ dual-sided power meter, so structured training and race pacing data are built in rather than added on later. Reserve 42TA and 49TA wheels — shallower up front, deeper in the rear — roll on DT Swiss 350 hubs and are tubeless-compatible, wrapped in Vittoria Corsa N.EXT TLR G2.0 tires in a 700x29 width for a balance of speed and real-road grip.
Contact points are tuned for long days in the saddle at race pace: a Fizik Arione R3 saddle sits atop a Cervelo SP27 carbon seatpost, a combination built around a stretched-out, aggressive riding position rather than an all-day touring posture. That's consistent with the Soloist's purpose — this isn't a bike designed to be comfortable at any cost, it's designed to be fast, with comfort tuned around the demands of racing rather than century rides.
The Soloist Ultegra Di2 suits riders who race regularly or train with structure and want a bike that reflects that commitment — club racers, fast group ride regulars, and anyone stepping up from a general-purpose road bike into something built specifically to be raced. Available in Black Magic and Cloud Burst colorways.
