KMC

KMC is the world’s most widely used bicycle chain brand — a claim backed by Olympic gold medals, Tour de France KOM wins, and a manufacturing footprint spanning 11 plants across five countries. Founded in Taiwan in 1977, KMC pioneered lightweight chains, titanium-coated chains, and the DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating technology that has since become the performance standard across professional cycling.

The RA Cycles KMC collection covers three core lines. The DLC Series sits at the top — a Diamond-Like Carbon coating reduces friction, extends chain life, and cuts maintenance intervals whether you’re chasing a PR or grinding training miles. KMC was founded in Taiwan in 1977 by Charles Wu — starting with a handful of used machines in what was then the world’s smallest chain factory. More than four decades later, KMC has grown into the world’s largest chain supplier, operating 11 manufacturing plants across Taiwan, China, the Netherlands, the US, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
