Fizik was founded in 1996 in Vicenza, Italy — created as a dedicated high-performance brand within Selle Royal Group, one of the world’s largest saddle manufacturers. Where the parent company focused on volume, Fizik was built around craft: every saddle is 100% handmade through 50 to 70 individual steps, taking 72 to 78 hours from start to finish. The Arione — a long, flat saddle designed for flexible riders who rotate on the saddle — was among the original launch models and remains a benchmark in the category. More recently, Fizik pushed into custom fit with their Adaptive range: 3D-printed padding developed with Carbon (the additive manufacturing company) and gebioMized, a German pressure mapping specialist, with density zones tuned to individual rider data. The Fizik collection at RA Cycles spans three saddle shape families across two performance lines. The Vento series targets race and aggressive positions; the Tempo series is built for endurance. Within each, Fizik’s shape system covers three rider profiles: the flat Arione for flexible riders who rotate their hips, the Antares for average flexibility, and the curved Aliante for stiffer riders who sit more upright. The short-nose Argo platform runs through both lines, reducing soft tissue pressure in low, aero positions. Adaptive 3D-printed padding is available in select Vento and Antares models. The Terra line covers gravel, starting from $89.99.
