Easton's roots go back to 1922 in Van Nuys, California, where Doug Easton began manufacturing aluminum arrow shafts. The company built a dominant position in archery before applying its metallurgy and precision manufacturing to cycling. The first Easton cycling product — a TaperLite butted-aluminum mountain bike handlebar — arrived in 1989, followed by the Easton Sports Lab in 1990 and the brand's first carbon fiber handlebar in 1998.
