The "DT" stands for Drahtwerke Tréfileries (wire works), and spokes remain central to the business: DT Swiss produces roughly 70% of the world's bicycle spoke supply from Biel. After the 1994 founding, the brand expanded methodically — hubs with the proprietary Ratchet System, rims in 2003, and complete integrated wheelsets from 2004.
