ISM PS 1.1 Saddle Info
The ISM PS 1.1 Saddle takes the split-nose design of the PS series and layers in additional foam and gel padding — giving riders who spend long hours in an aero position a more forgiving platform without abandoning the soft-tissue pressure relief the format is built around. The PS stands for Performance Short, and the shape is intentionally compact, suited to riders who stay locked in one position rather than shifting around on the bike.
The two forward arms slope downward to eliminate contact with the perineum in a time trial or aggressive road position, while a slight upward rise at the rear gives your hips something to brace against when your torso is rotated forward. Compared to the PS 1.0, the 1.1 carries the extra padding and chromoly rails rather than titanium — a trade-off that adds marginal weight in exchange for a more substantial feel underhand. It also includes a rear transition hook for racking your bike during a triathlon changeover. One setup note: ISM recommends positioning the saddle so roughly two to three inches sit behind you when in your riding position — notably different from how a conventional saddle is fitted, and worth getting right before your first long effort.
