SRAM GX Eagle Chain Info
The SRAM GX Eagle Chain is built around a straightforward constraint: 12-speed spacing leaves almost no room for error, and a chain that isn't engineered to that tolerance will tell you about it every time you shift. SRAM's solution is a chain where the pins sit flush with the outer plates — keeping the chain narrow enough to move cleanly between 12 tightly spaced cogs without catching or dragging. On the GX, those pins are solid, which keeps the construction honest and the weight in check.
The inner plates are chamfered — no square edges — which smooths the chain's engagement with the cassette and contributes to quieter, faster shifting. Outer plates are nickel-treated silver, inner plates are black, and the pins are chromed. It's a durable combination that holds up to trail grime without looking like it's given up. The chain ships as an uncut 114-link length and includes an Eagle-specific PowerLock master link — a single-use connector, so install it once and leave it alone.
