The Continental Mountain King II Protection 27.5" Tubeless Tire is built for riders who want the MK2's proven mixed-condition tread without giving up confidence when the trail turns loose, wet, or unpredictable. A ProTection layer under the tread guards against punctures, while the tubeless-ready construction lets you run lower pressures for better grip and a smoother ride over rough ground.
The carcass combines a 60tpi multi-ply construction with reinforced sidewalls and a rubber-wrapped aramid bead shaped specifically for tubeless fitment. Continental's Black Chili compound — a silica-blended rubber — underpins the tread, balancing grip with durability. The tread itself uses closely spaced central knobs at varied angles for traction on hardpack and loose surfaces, flanked by open-spaced outer knobs that engage on corners and soft terrain. Available in 2.2" and 2.4" widths, this tire is designed with full-suspension bikes in mind, where the added volume works alongside front and rear wheel travel rather than against it.
