Continental - RA Cycles

Continental

Continental has been making bicycle tires since before cycling was a mainstream sport — and the range at RA Cycles reflects the full depth of what the German brand produces today. The collection runs from the Grand Prix 5000, one of the most widely ridden performance road tires in professional cycling, through the Gator Hardshell for training and wet-weather durability, to road tubulars for track and criterium use. MTB tires including downhill-specific options round out the selection, alongside a complete tube range covering standard butyl, TPU, and multiple valve configurations. Road race day or a hard winter of training, this collection covers it.

About Continental

Continental AG was founded in 1871 in Hanover, Germany — one of the oldest tire manufacturers in the world, and a company that has spent well over a century developing rubber for demanding applications. Their proprietary Black Chili compound is the clearest expression of that engineering history: a formulation that delivers measurably lower rolling resistance alongside strong grip in both wet and dry conditions, without trading one for the other. The Grand Prix 5000, built around Black Chili, has become the benchmark road tire for performance riders and the tire of choice for professional road teams worldwide. More at Continental’s official website.

At RA Cycles, the Continental range covers road, track, and off-road. The road tubeless lineup includes the GP5000 TT TR, GP5000 All Season TR, and Grand Prix TR — covering everything from dry racing conditions to year-round training. The Gator Hardshell handles the hard miles, while the Competition and Special Class II tubulars serve track and race-day applications. MTB tires extend the collection off-road, and the full tube range — butyl, TPU, and Unitube options — covers road and off-road sizing from $8.95 up.

Comparing tires across brands? The full tire collection at RA Cycles includes options across every category. The Vittoria and Schwalbe collections are worth a look at the premium end, and the tubes, sealant, and tape collection has everything needed to complete a tubeless or standard setup.
