XLABs mastery of aerobar bottle options continues with the Kompact 500. The name refers to the fact that the design is offset to the rear so that it will work with short bars-much of the mount can be over the stem rather than over the bars. Total length for the Kompact is 145mm.

the mount itself has two molded half moons that are designed to sit atop 22.2mm diameter extensions. The width can be adjusted from 70mm to 150mm measured center-to-center. Short Velcro straps run around the molded bits and then your bars. The molded, unidirectional carbon-fiber base for the Torpedo sits above the mounts, with a unidirectional carbon-fiber water bottle cage affixed to that. Atop the cage is a Garmin quarter-turn mount, meaning any Garmin head unit that has a quarter-turn base, which is most of them, is compatible.

An insulated XLAB Cool Shot Bottle, which can be filled with up to 600ml of fluid, comes with the kit. The water bottle cage comes with Raptor Talons at the end. They can be swapped for more colorful talons to match your bike. With the Talons, you need seven pounds of force on the bottle to move it out of the cage.
