Wilier Filante SL ID2 Force AXS Bike Info
The Wilier Filante SL ID2 Force AXS Bike is a carbon road bike built around electronic shifting, deep-section carbon wheels and a fully integrated cockpit. It comes from Wilier Triestina, the Italian maker that has been building bikes in Veneto since 1906. This build sits at the performance end of the Wilier road range, and it is set up to ride as it comes out of the box.
Frame and Fork
The frame and fork are both carbon monocoque, made from what Wilier specifies as NHU MOD+ High Impact Strength carbon. A monocoque layup molds the frame as one continuous structure instead of bonding separate tubes. That is how builders generally keep weight down while tuning stiffness and compliance in specific areas of the frame. The Superslim headset uses Wilier's own custom bearings and supports the clean, low-profile front end. The Filante-specific carbon seatpost has a -15mm setback, which affects your saddle position and fit, so it is worth discussing with your fitter.
SRAM Force AXS E1 Drivetrain
Shifting and braking come from SRAM Force AXS E1. That means wireless electronic front and rear derailleurs, AXS shifters and hydraulic disc brake calipers, with a Force E1 crankset and chain. Gearing is a 48/35 chainring pairing with a 12-speed 10-33 cassette. That is a compact setup for riders who want a wide enough range for steep climbs without giving up a tall gear for descents and flat roads. The bottom bracket is SRAM DUB in a Pressfit 86.5 road shell. Braking uses SRAM Paceline 160mm rotors front and rear.
Wheels, Tires and Cockpit
The wheels are Miche SWR EVO 50 Carbon, a 50mm-class deep-section rim profile that favors speed on open roads and rolling terrain. They are fitted with Vittoria Rubino V tires in 700x30. The frame clears tires up to 34mm, so you can go wider for rougher pavement or long days on broken roads without changing frames.
Up front is the R-Bar, an integrated carbon handlebar and stem in one piece. Routing runs through the cockpit and keeps the front end clean. An integrated bar also limits how freely you can swap stem lengths and bar widths, so size and fit matter more than usual. A Selle San Marco Shortfit 2.0 open-fit saddle in the narrow width is the contact point at the rear. Pedals are not included, so choose the system that matches your shoes.
Sizing and Colors
The Filante SL is offered in six sizes, XS through XXL, with crank lengths from 165mm on the smallest frames to 172.5mm on the largest. In size M, stack is 538mm and reach is 388mm, with a 408mm chainstay, 72.5-degree head angle and 74-degree seat angle. The reach and stack numbers lean toward a race-oriented but not extreme position. Four colorways are available: Drive White, Pivot Grey, Pulse Red and Flow Blue.
Who It's For
This bike suits riders who want a modern Italian carbon road bike with a current electronic groupset and deep wheels, and who want to ride it without upgrades. It fits fast group rides, road racing and long weekend miles equally well. At $7,700, the Filante SL ID2 Force AXS is a complete performance build from a brand with more than a century of racing history.
