The Wolf Tooth T47 External Bottom Bracket is built around a deceptively simple goal: a bottom bracket that stays quiet, spins freely, and holds up to real-world conditions — ride after ride. Custom polymer spindle bushings eliminate metal-on-metal contact at the crankset interface, which is where most creaking starts. The result is a bottom bracket you stop noticing, which is exactly what you want.

The bearings use hardened chrome steel balls and races — a material choice with higher surface hardness than standard stainless steel, designed to reduce spinning resistance and extend service life. An ACOSUR ZNA coating on the races adds corrosion resistance, validated to equal or exceed stainless performance after 500 hours of saltwater exposure. An adjustable-width sleeve covers both 68mm and 73mm T47 shell widths, and three spindle diameter options — 24mm, 29mm, and 30mm — keep compatibility broad. Engineered, machined, and assembled at Wolf Tooth's facility in Minnesota, and backed by a lifetime warranty on the bearings.
