This is not a mini-pump! SILCA wants to make that fact crystal clear when it comes to their SILCA Pocket Impero Air Pump. It has an appearance of a mini- but it doesn’t work like one.
It works like a short frame pump. It’s eight inches long (20.3cm), weigh 5.3 ounces (150g), has SILCA’s leather plunger washer, Impero head, and can take a road tire from flat to 89psi in 200 strokes (BikeRadar found this out).
The Impero head is made from CNC-machined aluminum and features the same elastomer washer (#323) in the head itself. The shaft is honed for roundness. Basically, all the pieces are well-designed, made from high-quality materials, and don’t deform as they heat up, which is where most of the efficiency losses occur in mini-pumps. There’s even a silicone insulating sleeve to hold which keeps your hand from feeling the shaft heat up. It doubles as the handle lock when you’re not using it.
As with other SILCA pumps, this has their SILCA Shield 25-year hard parts warranty.
