The Shimano Dura-Ace FC-R9100-P Power Crankset is Shimano's own answer to the question of how to integrate a power meter without compromise — built directly into the Dura-Ace 9100 crankset rather than bolted on as an afterthought. Three strain gauges — one in the left arm, one in the right, and one in the 24mm thru-axle spindle — are wired together to eliminate the transmission interference that can plague wireless sensor setups. The result is dual-sided power data accurate to within +/- 2%, including vector data compatible with bikefitting.com analysis.
The transmitter sits on the right crank and includes a manual zero reset switch. The rechargeable battery is built into the thru-axle with a charge port on the transmitter, so there are no coin cells to swap mid-season. ANT+ and Bluetooth Low Energy broadcast simultaneously, and firmware updates are delivered wirelessly. Because the meter lives in the crank arms rather than the chainrings, you can change ring combinations without affecting the power measurement system.
