Scott Addict 10 Bike Info

The Scott Addict 10 Bike is built on an entirely new-generation HMX carbon frame — not a refresh of the previous Addict, but a clean redesign that resets what the model stands for. Scott builds two distinct carbon road platforms: the Addict RC, which targets maximum stiffness and race performance, and the Addict, which shares that precision but prioritizes all-day compliance and a position that holds up over long distances. The Addict 10 is the highest-spec Addict in the lineup at RA Cycles, arriving with SRAM Force AXS wireless electronic shifting, an integrated power meter, Fulcrum Wind 42 carbon wheels, and a full Syncros cockpit. It's a bike built around the idea that fast and comfortable are not mutually exclusive.

The HMX carbon frame is the material used on Scott's two highest-spec Addict builds — a higher modulus fiber than the HMF carbon used further down the range. At 780g, the frameset is 50g lighter than the previous generation's Addict RC SL. The more significant change, though, is in how the frame rides. Scott engineered the new Addict to deliver 25% more compliance than the Addict RC and 50% more than the outgoing Addict generation, without reducing stiffness at the bottom bracket or head tube. That combination comes from specific structural changes: the seat tube is slimmer below the seat stay junction, the top tube is refined and narrower, and the seat stays are set lower and angled outward. These changes allow the rear triangle to absorb road vibration that the previous frame transmitted directly to the rider — a difference that accumulates over four-hour rides in a way that shorter rides don't reveal.

The frame integrates storage in a way that's become a Scott signature. A compartment is built into the underside of the down tube just above the bottom bracket, positioned deliberately low to minimize any effect on the bike's center of gravity when loaded. The Syncros Save the Day kit that ships with the bike fits this compartment exactly — a puncture repair pack sized for the space, out of sight until needed. A Syncros iS Drop Bar Tool 2 Composite adds additional in-bar storage. Internal cable routing runs throughout the frame and fork. The UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) is a standardized replaceable format that makes sourcing a replacement simple — a practical detail that matters when a derailleur hanger gets bent far from a shop.

The drivetrain is SRAM Force AXS E1 — 2x wireless electronic shifting with a 46/33 chainring setup and a 10-36 SRAM Force XG-1270 12-speed cassette. The crankset includes an integrated power meter: at this price point, that's a significant inclusion — a standalone Force AXS power meter crankset adds substantial cost to any other build. Brakes are SRAM Force AXS hydraulic disc with 160mm Paceline rotors. The wheels are Fulcrum Wind 42 disc brake carbon — a 42mm-deep tubeless-ready carbon clincher that balances aerodynamic return with manageable crosswind behavior at endurance riding speeds. The cockpit is Syncros throughout: HB-R100-CF carbon handlebar, SP-R101-CF carbon seatpost, and a Tofino V 2.0 Cut Out saddle.

Tires are Schwalbe One Fold in 700x34 with clearance to 38mm for riders who want more volume. The geometry sits in a noticeably more open endurance position — Scott designs the Addict so that 0mm of spacers gives you the same riding position as 35mm of spacers on the Addict RC. The chainstays are 2mm shorter than the previous generation, which adds handling agility without changing the bike's fundamental character. The Addict 10 is built for riders who put in serious training hours, want race-grade technology, and have decided that a locked-in race position is not what they need for the majority of their riding.

The RA Perspective

The new Addict is a meaningful redesign, not a cosmetic refresh. The frame rides differently than what came before, and the compliance story is real — we've been through enough endurance bikes to know when a manufacturer is talking about compliance versus when a frame actually absorbs road surface differently. The new Addict does the latter, especially on chip seal and rougher tarmac.

The value proposition on the Addict 10 is hard to argue with. SRAM Force AXS with an integrated power meter at this price is strong on its own. Add the Fulcrum Wind 42 carbon wheels — which carry a real stand-alone retail value — and a full Syncros carbon cockpit, and the build competes with bikes that cost substantially more. Most riders won't need to add anything to this bike out of the box, which isn't something you can say about many bikes in this category.

The compliance numbers Scott claims — 25% more than the Addict RC, 50% more than the outgoing Addict — are ones you feel over the course of a long ride. The tradeoff is that the Addict 10 doesn't feel as planted and direct as the Addict RC on fast technical descents. That's by design. For riders doing gran fondos, multi-hour training blocks, or back-to-back days in the saddle, that tradeoff is the right one.

One honest note: the Schwalbe One tires that come stock are the weak point of the build. They're adequate but don't match the level of the frame and components around them. Worth swapping early if you want to get the most out of what the frame can do.
