The Rotor Q-Ring Inner Chainring is built on a straightforward premise: a round chainring asks your legs to work at a constant resistance through every degree of rotation, including the dead spots at the top and bottom of the stroke where you produce almost no power. Rotor's oval profile — designed with 10% ovality — effectively reduces resistance through those dead zones and increases leverage at the power phase, allowing your legs to maintain a smoother, more consistent effort over the full pedal cycle.

Sold individually, this inner ring is intended to be run on the inside position of a road crankset. At lower cadences and in harder terrain, where momentum drops and the dead spots in your stroke become more pronounced, the oval geometry is designed to have the most noticeable effect. Three OCP (Optimum Chainring Position) mounting holes let you dial in the orientation of the oval to match your individual biomechanics — a fitting guide is included to help you find the right setting. Available in 110 BCD and 130 BCD options across multiple tooth counts, there's a configuration to suit most standard road cranks.
