But the design DNA goes deeper: the trigger stem (the curved junction where the temple meets the lens front) and the full-rim shield shape are both pulled from Oakley's original Razor Blade, the brand's first sport performance sunglass. The BXTR takes that archival silhouette, builds it in BiO-Matter, and fits it with PRIZM optics — resulting in a shield that sits at the intersection of Oakley's sport heritage and modern lifestyle eyewear.

BiO-Matter is Oakley's plant-based frame material, made with at least 56% bio-based carbon content derived from castor oil rather than fossil sources. It's lightweight, stress-resistant, and a meaningful step forward from standard synthetic frame polymers. The full-rim shield spans 135mm across, providing broad facial coverage without sacrificing the open sightlines that make shield-style eyewear work on the road.
