Giordana Zephyr Jacket Info

The Giordana Zephyr Jacket is a lightweight wind jacket in nylon ripstop, updated for 2025 and made in Italy. Giordana revised it to be more durable, lighter and more practical, with abrasion resistance and wind protection as the focus.

Fabric and fit

The ripstop pattern is designed to resist tearing and air penetration. Straight-cut Lycra cuffs hug the wrist to keep wind out, and the waistband is simple-turned and non-elastic, so the hem keeps a steady drape. The fit is relaxed, for performance or casual wear, and the 2025 Giordana branding is on the jacket.

On the road

A two-way zipper with a full-length wind flap lets you open it from the top or bottom. When the weather clears, the jacket packs into its rear pocket, and Giordana lists the weight at 3.6 oz (102 g) in a size medium. It comes in black or lime, sizes 2XS through 4XL. The fit is based on men's sizing, and Giordana recommends women order one size down.

The Zephyr is a wind jacket in the narrow sense. It is a light nylon ripstop layer for breezy rides, descents and the first half hour of a cool morning, and it packs into its own rear pocket when you no longer need it. Giordana lists it at 3.6 oz (102 g) in a medium, which is light enough to leave in a jersey pocket or a bag all season.

We would point to the practical parts. The ripstop weave is intended to resist tearing and wind, the Lycra cuffs fit snugly at the wrist, and the two-way zipper with a full-length wind flap lets you open it from below for airflow. The waistband is non-elastic, so the hem hangs without gripping. The fit is relaxed, which makes it easy to wear over a jersey or a long sleeve.

The tradeoff is the same as for any thin wind jacket. It blocks wind, but Giordana does not describe it as waterproof or insulated, so it will not be your jacket for steady rain or serious cold. A non-elastic hem and relaxed cut also mean it will flap more at speed than a race fit would. Sizing follows the men's chart, and Giordana says women should order one size down.

It suits commuters, gravel riders and road riders who want a layer that takes up almost no room. It comes in black or lime, sizes 2XS to 4XL.
