Giordana Women's FR-C Pro Lyte Jersey Info

The Giordana Women's FR-C Pro Lyte Jersey is an 82 gram (size medium) short sleeve jersey designed for the hottest days. Giordana built it to maximize breathability without giving up support, using a lightweight, fast-drying, stretchy fabric system that is meant to improve heat dissipation.

A stripped-down design

The front is a zipperless design, which Giordana says reduces heat, hot spots and weight, and the collarless neckline is intended to cut drag and boost airflow. The front fabric is a moisture-wicking microfiber. The set-in sleeves have straight-cut cuffs and carry a 50+ UPF rating, and the stretch fabric gives a second-skin fit that supports without restricting.

Race fit and details

The FR-C Pro line is built on Giordana's experience with WorldTour teams. The cut is race-ready, close to the body, and made to feel like a second skin. A thermal-welded waistband with gripper elastic keeps the jersey in place, the pocket construction is optimized for stability, and the jersey has Giordana's new logo branding.

The fabric is 88% polyester and 12% elastane. Colors are white, sienna orange and ostrica, in sizes 2XS through 3XL. It is made in Italy. Machine wash or handwash at 40°C or less, with no bleach, and iron at low temperature if needed.

The RA Perspective

The FR-C Pro Lyte Jersey is the lightest jersey in the line. Giordana quotes 82 grams in a medium, and nearly every design choice goes toward keeping you cool: a zipperless front, a collarless neckline and a fast-drying stretch fabric.

We would point it toward riders who spend summer in real heat, such as long climbs in the sun, hot-weather races and fast group rides. The set-in sleeves carry a 50+ UPF rating, which counts for something when you are out for hours, and the gripper waistband keeps the hem from creeping up.

There are tradeoffs. With no zipper, you cannot open the jersey up for ventilation when you are climbing slowly, so you rely on the fabric alone. The cut is a close, race-oriented fit, designed to feel like a second skin, so riders who want a looser jersey should look at a different range. And a very light fabric is not the most protective choice if you ride in rough terrain or want extra durability on a daily commute.

For a hot day and a hard effort, this is the kind of jersey that gets out of the way. It comes in white, sienna orange and ostrica, with sizes running from 2XS to 3XL.
