Giordana Men's Vero Tri Jersey Info

Giordana calls the Giordana Men's Vero Tri Jersey a form-fitting short sleeve top that takes its cues from skinsuits and adds a few tricks of its own. It is offered in blue and black, sizes S through 3XL, and made in Italy.

A full-length zipper ends in a garage at the neck. The scooped, collarless neck stays flat for running or riding, even unzipped. Sleeves reach nearly the length of the upper arms, and the front panels, shoulders and sleeves use a smooth, stretchy microfiber that wicks, rated SPF 30+. Lycra piping finishes the neck, front waist hem and pockets.

The back panel changes the material: a three-dimensional woven textile with directional stretch, SPF 20+, designed to evaporate sweat and strong enough that overstuffed pockets should not sag. Microfresh treatment is there to reduce the odor of sweat. Two top-access pockets are deep enough, Giordana says, to hold a vest and warmers, and a 5cm gripper elastic under them keeps them from shifting.

The Vero Pro fabrics are stretchier and less compressive than Giordana's FR-C Pro line, so the jersey should suit more body types and be easier to get in and out of.

The RA Perspective

A tri top has a narrow job: stay aero on the bike and be easy to run in afterward. The Vero Tri Jersey is Giordana's answer for riders who do not want a full suit, and it has several details for long training days.

Start with the back. The woven three-dimensional panel is intended to move sweat off your skin, and it is strong enough that loaded pockets do not pull the jersey down. Both pockets open from the top and have a gripper elastic below, which lets you carry a vest or arm warmers without the load bouncing. The neck is the other detail we would point to. It has no collar and sits flat, and the zipper garage keeps the pull away from your skin.

The tradeoff is the form-fitting cut. It borrows from skinsuits, so it is not a loose club jersey. Giordana says the Vero Pro line is easier to wear than its FR-C Pro garments because of the stretchier, less compressive fabrics, but expect a close fit and check the size chart. The sleeves cover most of the upper arm, which gives sun cover but is not for riders who want bare arms.

We would reach for this on race day or for training blocks that include a run off the bike. It comes in blue and black, sizes S to 3XL.
