Deda Dabar Carbon Basebar Info
Deda’s Dabar Carbon Basebar is an aero handlebar that works well alone on a fixed gear or track bike, or with extensions bolted on the track, in a time trial, and the bike leg of a triathlon.
It’s a bold design combining both a wide clamping area and wing that taper dramatically to the forward-pointing handrests. You can rest your hands on the wing, even steer pretty well, if need be. But your instinct will be to reach for the horns and haul.
The oversized 31.7mm center section extends well past the stem clamping area, pretty much extending to the point at which the bars curve toward the bullhorns. This makes the bar very stiff, which is why track riders like having it along for their rides. It also gives plenty of room for mounting extensions where you want them.
The Dabar comes in one size. It measures 42cm from outside-to-outside. It has zero drop. The bars are hollow for mounting plug-style brake or brake/shift levers, and have exit ports for mechanical and hydraulic braking as well as for electronic shift wires. If you use these on the track, you can install the included plugs to close up the ports. Weight for the bar is 210g.
