Crank Brothers Klic HP Air Pump Info
Crank Brothers is out to demonstrate that a good mini pump rivals a floor pump. Their Klic HP Air Pump makes filling up your tires a breeze.
There are three HP, high pressure, versions: the simple HP, the HP with pressure gauge, the HP with gauge and CO2 head. These are pumps for road bike tires. If you have high volume tires, check out the HV line. The difference between the two pumps is the HP has a narrower barrel, meaning more strokes for a given volume, but making it easier to move when tire pressure gets high
All three share many basic features. The body is made of aluminum. There is a magnetic cover keeping the air exhaust port hidden from water and debris. The handle pulls out, exposes the hose’s hiding place and pivots into a T-shape for more powerful pumping. That hose is then pulled out, the magnetic cover over the air exhaust port is opened, the magnetic hose head then is guided into place and held-it holds in place up to the max tire pressure the pump is rated to. Then, you’ve got the pump head itself. It is reversible, from Presta to Schrader and vice versa.
They all come with a pump bracket to attach to your water bottle mounts. They can pump a tire up to 140psi (9.6 bar).
The HP is the simplest and lightest. It weighs 115g and is 220mm long.
The HP with gauge has a gauge built into the head, so you can eyeball the pressure as you’re pumping. It weighs 142g and is 260mm long.
The HP with gauge and CO2 head adapter weighs 170g and is 260mm long. The CO2 head is in the handle. You unscrew the handle, expose the CO2 head adapter and thread in the cartridge. It will work with any size threaded cartridge.
The pumps all come with a five-year warranty.
The Crank Brothers Klic HP Air Pump is the result of some sophisticated engineering, but the operation is incredibly simple and straightforward.
