Steel doesn’t have to mean “old school.” This is the kind of bike that reminds you why riders fell in love with steel in the first place—then upgrades the whole experience with modern integration, modern braking, and modern speed.
Colnago built this frame as a statement piece: a limited-run, 100% Made-in-Italy steel platform that’s meant to be ridden hard and kept forever. The Steelnovo blends classic Columbus steel tubes with next-level production: 3D-printed steel lugs and seamless hidden weld work that makes it look almost too clean to be steel. Add in fully integrated cable routing and disc brakes, and you get that rare “best of both worlds” feel—lively on accelerations, calm on rough roads, and confident in corners.
The frame, in plain English
- Columbus steel tubes + 3D-printed steel lugs: tuned ride feel with precision alignment you can’t fake.
- Hidden weld aesthetic: clean lines like a modern superbike, with steel’s signature soul.
- Disc-brake performance: real stopping power in real conditions.
- All-road tire clearance: room to go wider for comfort and grip (up to 35mm).
- Important note: the frame uses a 27.2mm seatpost and it is not included.

This build is centered around SRAM AXS, which means wireless electronic shifting with that crisp “click” feeling every time you shift—no cables to stretch, no vague shifts, and a super clean setup.
