BMC Speedmachine 01 Module Info
The BMC Speedmachine 01 Module begins with a premise that BMC developed alongside Red Bull Advanced Technologies: you are only fast when you can actually stay aero. A triathlete who fights their bike for control in a crosswind section, or who has to sit up through a technical descent, loses more time to that discomfort than any tube profile optimization could recover. The Speedmachine 01 was built to close that gap — a triathlon bike where aerodynamics and stability were engineered as a unified system from the start, not traded against each other.
The frame uses BMC's 01 Premium Carbon layup, their highest-grade construction, delivering the stiffness needed for direct, efficient power transfer in the aero position. ICS Technology routes cables internally through the frame and fork without interrupting the exterior profile — no hydraulic lines or shift housing breaking the tube shapes — and the result is an optimized surface from head tube to dropout. The fork matches the frame exactly: same carbon grade, same stealth routing, same Flat Mount disc standard with rotor compatibility up to 160mm front and 140mm or 160mm rear. Tire clearance runs to 30mm measured, which gives athletes real latitude in wheel and tire selection for varied race courses. The rear dropout uses Universal Derailleur Hanger geometry, compatible with both SRAM and Shimano's top-tier electronic groupsets without an adapter. The complete module tips the scale at 4,035g in size M with all accessories installed.
The handling story is where the Speedmachine 01 separates itself from the tri field. BMC's goal was a bike that maintains the confident, predictable character of a road bike while in a fully extended aero position — stable in crosswinds, composed through technical descents, manageable in tight turns. Seat tube angles of 80 degrees on the Small and Medium and 82.4 degrees on the Large set up a proper tri-specific position, and the geometry across all three sizes was developed around what an athlete can actually hold across a 180-kilometer bike leg, not just what looks fast on a short test ride.
The cockpit is where the Module earns its designation. In addition to the frame and fork, it includes the BMC Speedmachine Flat Cockpit paired with Profile Design Aeria Ultimate aerobars — Ergo+ armrests and 45/25 SLC extensions — on a system that offers a generous range of adjustment across stack, reach, width, and extension length. Across the three frame sizes, stack adjustment spans roughly 90mm and reach spans over 100mm, giving fitters meaningful range to dial in an optimized position for each athlete. The entire cockpit disassembles with four bolts — a practical feature for frequent travelers or anyone racing internationally. Integrated storage rounds out the package: a 1.2-liter Fuel Tank at the front hydration position with straw and bite valve, a Rear Storage 260 compartment shaped to minimize aerodynamic penalty, and an integrated rear light. A UCI-compliant 400ml bottle is also included. Everything the athlete needs on course is accessible without leaving the aero position or disrupting airflow around the bike.
The Module configuration is designed for athletes who want to spec their own drivetrain and wheels. The T47 68mm bottom bracket shell works with both 1x and 2x cranksets, and SRAM UDH and Shimano Direct Mount derailleur hangers are both included in the box. Available in Small, Medium, and Large, the Speedmachine 01 Module at $5,499.00 is the entry point into the platform with the complete front end already in place — a meaningful head start for athletes who have an existing preference for their groupset and wheel selection and want to build around a proven frame, fork, and cockpit rather than assembling those pieces separately.
