The J of the Assos sJ.blitzFeder_evo7 Shell is for jacket. This is a super-light, super-thin, super-stowable layer of protection that you can take with you and never feel weighed down.

The bulk of the jacket, the front, the leading edge of the sleeves, and down the middle of the back, are made from a super-light, super-thin, slightly-stretchy, windproof nylon. It’s a tightly-woven fabric, which is almost transparent, and much softer than your typical wind shell. The side panels and the underarms are made from a lightweight, stretch fabric. This is where Assos gets the jacket both to breathe and contour your body.

If you’re used to such jackets flapping loudly and stiffly in the wind, you’ll be happy to know that between the fit and materials, there’s very little flapping and that which happens is much quieter than most jackets.

Because the materials are so thin, the zipper is probably the bulkiest part of the top, the jacket easily compresses to fit inside the palm of your hand. You can easily stow it in a jersey pocket, and then put other stuff in that pocket as well.
