Q36.5 Adventure Winter Jacket - Womens Info

The Q36.5 Adventure Winter Jacket - Women's is a winter cycling jacket that combines a waterproof shell and thermal insulation in one piece. Q36.5 positions it as a versatile jacket for the all-rounder rather than a race piece, and it weighs about 280 g. The brand says the idea came from winter sports in the Dolomites, including skiing, ski touring and mountaineering.

The outer shell is a body-mapped, three-layer waterproof fabric that Q36.5 calls UF 75Shell, with a durable water-repellent treatment. Q36.5's RSR body mapping places breathable panels and different fabric densities according to where you sweat most. Inside, a brushed knit called UF Air Insulation is designed to trap warm air against the skin and move moisture away before it condenses into sweat. Q36.5 says the sandwich construction makes the jacket about 30% lighter than its Termica jacket. Q36.5 does not publish a waterproof rating in millimeters, so treat the shell as water-resistant protection for cold, damp rides rather than a downpour shell.

The jacket uses a women's pattern with a snug fit, and an extra drawstring at the hem seals out cold air around the lower back. A hermetic collar system adds a second, soft elastic fleece collar inside the main collar to close the gap at the back of the neck. Q36.5 rates the jacket for +23°F to +46°F. That makes this women's winter cycling jacket a good fit for cold commutes, gravel rides and winter road miles that stay above deep-freeze conditions. It comes in Black in sizes XS through L.

The RA Perspective

The Adventure Winter Jacket is one of Q36.5's more practical pieces. It is not a race jacket. Q36.5 designs it for riders who spend cold months on gravel, commuting and general winter miles, and it pairs a waterproof shell with brushed insulation in a single layer, so there is less to think about on cold mornings.

At about 280 g it is light for a jacket with insulation built in. The body-mapped shell and the brushed inner layer are meant to hold warmth while moving moisture out, which matters on the long steady efforts where winter jackets tend to get clammy. The hermetic collar and hem drawstring also help seal out drafts around the neck and lower back.

The tradeoffs are worth knowing. Q36.5 gives no waterproof rating in millimeters, so we would treat this as protection for cold, damp rides rather than hours of steady rain. The rated range of +23°F to +46°F puts it in cold-weather territory, but not deep winter. The fit is snug by design, so check the size chart before ordering, and at $395 it sits at the premium end for a winter jacket.

It suits women who ride through the cold months and want a single warm layer that works on the bike and off it. We would reach for it on a 35-degree gravel ride or a cold commute.
