Wilier Rapida 105 Di2 Bike Info
The Wilier Rapida 105 Di2 Bike is Wilier's entry point into its road lineup, built to carry the same design DNA as the brand's flagship Filante SLR ID2 down to a more attainable price. The frame and fork are molded from Wilier's Carbon Monocoque NH-MOD, shaped with the same NACA airfoil tube profiles found on the Filante, so the aerodynamic thinking behind Wilier's top-tier race bike shows up here in the down tube, fork legs, and seatpost rather than being reserved for the halo model. This build pairs that frame with a full Shimano 105 Di2 electronic groupset, putting wireless-quality shifting on a road bike that doesn't ask for flagship money.
The cockpit is a one-piece carbon design — Wilier calls it the Z-Bar — that routes brake and derailleur lines internally from bar to frame with no exposed housing anywhere along the way. It's the same integrated philosophy Wilier uses on the Filante SLR ID2, and it does more than clean up the silhouette: fewer cable runs exposed to road grit means less maintenance over the life of the bike. The Filante SL carbon seatpost carries a 15mm offset and an integrated clamp that keeps the same clean lines running from the front end back to the rear axle.
Shifting duties fall to Shimano 105 Di2 R7150 derailleurs and R7170 shifters, running a 12-speed 11-34 cassette against 50/34 chainrings on a 105 R7100 crankset — a wide enough range to handle both flat group rides and steady climbing without feeling undergeared. Shimano 105 R7170 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm front and 140mm rear rotors handle stopping power in wet or dry conditions alike. The Rapida rolls on Miche Asfalto 45 Carbon wheels front and rear, wrapped in Vittoria Zaffiro Pro V tires at 700x32 — a tire width chosen to balance low rolling resistance with real comfort on imperfect pavement.
Tire clearance goes up to 36mm, which opens this bike up to more than smooth tarmac. A rider can run the stock 32mm tires for club rides and fast group efforts, or size up toward the max clearance for rougher back roads and packed gravel without changing bikes. The 86.5mm press-fit bottom bracket is the same standard Wilier runs across its entire road range, including bikes well above this one in price, and the frame's removable derailleur hanger means this platform can be converted to a 1x setup down the line if a rider's preferences shift that way.
Wilier Triestina has been building bikes in the Veneto region of Italy since 1906, and the Rapida is aimed at a rider choosing the brand for the first time — someone who wants a genuine Wilier road bike, with the aero shaping and integrated cockpit that define the marque, without stepping up to Filante SLR ID2 pricing. It comes in four colorways (Midday Orange Glossy, Weekend White Glossy, Dusk Grey Matte, and Lastlight Black Matte) across six sizes from XS to XXL, making it a straightforward option for a rider ready to move up to electronic shifting on a road bike built for regular group rides, weekend distance, and the occasional detour onto rougher roads.
