THM Clavicula DM Road Crankset Info
The THM Clavicula DM Road Crankset is a full carbon road crankset that weighs about 255 grams, according to THM. THM makes its carbon components in Germany, and the Clavicula DM is built around a narrow crank arm and a 29mm cylindrical carbon spindle.
"DM" stands for direct mount. The crankset uses the 8-bolt road interface, so it accepts a wide range of chainrings, spiders, and power meters made for that standard. THM lists SRAM original chainrings, the SRM 8-bolt road spider PM9, Wolf Tooth Aero, and Gemini RIGEL among the compatible options, which means you can choose the ring size and power meter that fit how you ride, rather than being tied to one package. The 29mm spindle uses the DUB standard, and a clamping mechanism on the non-drive side lets it adapt to the bottom bracket shell in your frame.
THM designs the Clavicula DM around two priorities. The first is aerodynamics: the crank arms are ultra-slim, which keeps frontal area small. The second is stiffness for the weight, with the mass balanced between the drive and non-drive sides. Q-factor, the distance between the pedal mounting points, is 148mm and the chainline is 45mm, which are useful numbers to check against your frame and front derailleur before you order.
Crank arms come in 165mm, 170mm, and 172.5mm, all in a matte finish. It is a crankset for riders who are building or upgrading a lightweight road bike and who want to choose their own chainrings and power meter instead of buying a fixed system. If you are unsure about bottom bracket compatibility or chainring choice, RA Black can help you match it to your bike.
