The threaded interface means installation is familiar and reliable, with none of the press-fit alignment frustrations that plague some modern shells.
DUB — Durable Unified Bottom Bracket — was designed around a larger-diameter spindle and correspondingly larger bearings. The engineering intent is reduced friction and improved stiffness compared to narrower spindle platforms, with a bearing size that rolls more freely under load and is intended to last longer between services. This threaded version covers both 68mm road shells and 73mm mountain bike shells, with spacers included to accommodate the full range of compatible widths.
